Eco-friendly product  - Ecofibre Technology was established in 1998 following initial research and development work over a period of five years, in collaboration with Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM), which culminated in the successful outcome of a highly effective machinery for converting tough and bulky EFBs into fibres that could then be used as raw material for various purposes. It provided a significant first step towards a solution against incineration. It has succeeded where others have failed.

Proven biodegradable product in erosion control

Since that earlier success, EcofibreTechnology has continued with research and development work to produce pioneering innovative products from such alternative natural plant fibres. The first of such products is the Ecomat™. It has become highly successful and accepted by the agricultural, horticultural and forestry industry, thus extending on the concept of eco-friendliness to end-users.

Sustained R & D has led to an expanding list of products to include ecofibre; nECO; ecopot; hanging basket liners; biodegradable food containers and packaging; and pulp. They are products that serve to strengthen the concept of working towards a friendlier environment, from what used to be considered problematic biomass and pollutive practices.
